Construction Talks: Summary of Events
Summary of Events
March 10, 2017 Construction Talks 3

When you come to Construction Talks, you're not in the audience. There is no audience.

Since June 2016, Construction Talks has been bringing stakeholders together from every sector of the construction industry, to speak frankly about the most persistent problems holding back our industry. Facilitated activities open up honest conversations across the project-delivery chain: buyers, designers, consultants, contractors, trades, and suppliers.

This is the event where you get the opportunity to speak openly with your industry friends, and leverage the experience of others.

June 2, 2016 Construction Talks 1 - Owners' Workshop

On June 2nd, 2016 REACH Consulting and aceBIM hosted the inaugural Construction Talks workshop in a packed conference room of 60 attendees, representing all sectors of the AECO industry. This first workshop was directed towards owners and we started with a bang as Glenn Matich from Alberta Infrastructure (AI) presented some BIM research as well as highlighted future ambitions of the province's largest owner.

This workshop also included an exercise where groups of 6 convened together to work on a fictional project utilizing the BIM skills they have just learned. The exercise allowed them to go through the analyzing process, gain insight into multidiscipline-team collaboration, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Stay tuned for a whitepaper highlighting the session and the collective discussion.
